Reflection

I believe the game plan that I developed went pretty well. I believe that the students were able to meet the goals that i set for them and the goals I set for myself. Some of the things I learned from this process is that its important that you allow yourself alot of time and planning time when implementing a game plan as the one i did for this class. There were alot of things that came up that I did not allow time for in my original process. Some of the instructional adjustments that I will make for my instructional practice include more time for the teaching of Internet etiquette for my students.

My actions were somewhat helpfull in meeting my goals.

  • What have you learned so far that you can apply in your instructional practice?
I have learned that the students really do have concern for their community and want to do something to make better. In the future I will put more focus on community service as part of my curriculm.

  • What do you still have to learn? What new questions have arisen?
I still have to learn to be more effective in implementing these standards. No new questions have arisen.

  • How will you adjust your plan to fit your current needs?

  • I will adjust my plans to meet my current needs by doing more hands on activites with the studetns because I have more lower level students than before.

Using the GAME Plan Process with Students

There are many things that I could do to help my students achieve proficiency in the standards set forth in the NETS-S. One thing I can do is make sure my students use proper etiquette when using the Internet and others uses of technology.  Another step that I can take is too create a check list of the standards for each one of my students. We could then set up steps to be taken to achieve proficiency in those standards.

    Revising Your Game Plan

So far I have learned that it is a difficult process to achieve ones goals. I'm still working towards my current goals. Based on the NETS-T one of my new learning goals will be to customize and personalize learning activities to address students' diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources. Next time I will try to use more of a collaboration method to achieve my goals.

    Carrying Out My GAME Plan

There will many resources that I will need to help me carry our my game plan. The first resource that I will need will be the technology specialists at my school. This is an important resource because he will be very beneficial with coming up with ideas and resources to meet my goals. Some of the steps that I have been able to take so far has been the ability to conduct some research and to set up a meeting with our media specialist and technology specialist.

    NETS-T Standards

My goals are to strengthen my confidence in at least 2 NETS-T standards. The two standards I would like to strengthen are to facilitate and inspire students learning and creativity and the second is to promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility. To achieve these goals I will spend a considerate amount of time to researching and studying methods to increase students learning and creativity and to increasing digital citizenship and responsibility in my classroom. I will monitor my progress by examining my lessons plans. I will evaluate and extend my learning by professional development and peer observation.
